One question I get asked a lot is ‘what should I be eating pre and post-workout to fuel my workout, my body and get results?’ Because let’s face it, you can train all you like, but you’ll never out train a healthy balanced diet. What you put inside your body will have a big impact on your results, especially those meals around your training sessions, so read on as it’s time to talk pre-workout nutrition… ooo and if you love chocolate, you’re in luck!
Now, your nutritional choices will of course be dependant on the type of training you’re doing – for example the pre-workout meal of someone about to run a half marathon would look very different to someone about to hit the gym for a resistance workout. But one things remains the same… protein. Where whole foods are always my first preference, I do often supplement my diet with a spot of protein powder, because hey they’re quick, work in well when I’m on-the-go and a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. Protein shakes aren’t just for the ‘hench dudes’ you see in the gym!
So today I want to share with you one of my recent chocolate lover creations, it takes seconds to whizz up, includes 3 mighty ingredients and fuels my body to kick ass in my resistance sessions!
- 1 Scoop Nutristrength roasted cocoa pea protein
- 300ml Alpro cashew milk
- 1 Tbsp Meridian cashew butter
- Whizz in your Nutribullet or blender. It’s as simple as that!
