Read on to find how the Body Confidence Plan helped Jess prep for her big day and beyond!

Hello! My name is Jess and I am a 28 year old lawyer who lives in Cornwall. The end of 2016 was a hectic time for me. Me and my (now) husband were re-locating to Cornwall from Essex whilst planning a wedding for the following March. I’ve always enjoyed weight training and ate a fairly balanced diet, but I wasn’t making any progress or seeing the results I wanted. With my wedding round the corner I wanted to take my training and nutrition up to another level so I could look and feel my best on my special day.

I contacted Hannah in January after following Wedges & Weights on Instagram for a long time. I had admired Hannah’s down to earth approach on social media. I wanted a coach who would listen to my goals and lifestyle and tailor a training plan which was personalised to me. Hannah was everything I wanted and more.

My goal was originally short term – to look and feel fab on my wedding day. On the day of my wedding I felt incredible and confident, for the first time in my life! However, after the honeymoon was over I realised that my goals were so much more than just aesthetics. I wanted a maintainable healthy lifestyle, where I could progress my fitness goals but I also wanted to be less anxious and respond to stress better.

I can be my own worst enemy and have always expected perfection from myself. Hannah helped me see that fitness is part of an overall lifestyle. Sometimes things don’t go to plan and that’s completely ok. Hannah helped me to see how much energy I was wasting comparing myself to girls on Instagram. Hannah has also helped me rationalise my mental responses to stress and anxiety and put things into perspective.

Before training with Hannah I had felt that my fitness had stalled. Pull-ups seemed an impossible dream. However, after a year of hard work I can now:

  • Perform 4 chin-ups and 2 pull-ups
  • Hip-thrust 100kg
  • Squat 60kg
  • Deadlift 70kg
  • And so much more!

I now have a much better understanding as how to train and fuel my body to achieve my goals. My stress levels are the lowest they have ever been. After a year of coaching the principles Hannah has taught me have become well engrained habits and I feel that I am in a good place and can take control of the rest of my life and smash both my personal and fitness goals.
